Still reeling from the fate of the Fullcast but excited to support this endeavor, hopefully in a monetary way. Also excited for Spencer to be the hardcore guest preacher with a spotty past who talks about his time in Leavenworth and splits up the church.
As a Jew that spent 9+ years at a Jewish private school, I feel like I had youth group every dang day of my childhood. Would I pay to go back there, nope. Would I pay for Professor Kirk's version of religious school, absolutely - for six easy payments of $14.99, or whatever God tells you to charge.
As a Divinity student, I am very excited for something that takes the Bible a little less seriously... I would prefer ads to a subscription since I am but a poor student
Why not let a company sponsor an episode. I can hear it now "and just like God confused the Philistines in battle, (IT company) confused the hackers and subdued them so your business could run smooth." Or subscriptions probably.
Random, but in my daily reading I just got to Galatians 5, where Paul tells people questioning his views on circumcision to āgo the whole way and emasculate themselves!ā Iām really looking forward to you covering this someday.
As someone raised Evangelical and whose wife was raised Mormon, I'm beyond stoked for this project. On that note, please invite Matt Brown for an episode to discuss the greatest retcon of all Biblical retcons: The Book of Mormon. Also, how Mormons are to Protestantism like that one kid who claimed to be in a fraternity when the members explicitly and repeatedly said he's not invited.
I am a one time enthusiastic Catholic youth group member so I am excited to join in on this journey until I am damned to the pits of hell for not incorporating enough electric guitar into my worship
I'm so damn excited for this. My broke ass will happily pay for access. Went through baptism/communion/confirmation as an Irish Catholic in Atlanta. Then I showed up at a Young Life meeting as an obnoxious high school freshman, and actually felt a spiritual connection for the first time. Youth groups and YL retreats were the source nearly all of my fondest memories as a teenager. Now I'm 20, and I couldn't identify more strongly with the term "agnostic post-christian." This is going to be fun and silly and wonderful.
On the money front, donations seem like the only appropriate way to go (with a suggested donation level). All are welcome, but we can give what we like to support the missions of the church

INCLUDING OUR SCHOOL FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY THE GAY AND ATHEIST AND MUSLIM ONES
You had gay and atheist and muslim friends? You obviously didn't grow up as Baptist as I did, sinner.
