Just got my copy in the mail earlier this week. Excited to read it!
Also just listened to “Breakfast” for the first time in 15-20 years because of this post and, man, regardless of the weird premise in general and the hilarious “we bid our brother Cheerio” pun, the instrumental interlude before the final chorus still slaps (bass pun not intended).
I've heard those beaded bracelets called everything from Salvation Bands to Power Bands, so I don't know if the experience with them was universal, but in the late 80s in teeny tot church we would sing Petra's (the Christian prog rock band that went hair metal and everything in between on the way) The Coloring Song as we held onto the colored bead that Greg X Volz was singing about. I still get this earwig stuck in my brain from time to time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0__DZ88Yoc
As a twenty-something at the time, in my ostensibly mainline church I still knew or engaged with nearly all of these examples. Got fairly deep into Promise Keepers, truth be told.
I wore a Know Fear shirt to my first day of freshman year, which I later learned was mistakenly identified as kinda badass (I was not a badass in any way).
I had not thought of that in 20+ years, so throw that on the pile of things this book has dredged out of ancient memory.
Wow yes I forgot about this one. Every dude at my church had the LORD'S GYM shirt, every girl had the Coca-Cola knockoff, and almost everyone had this Nike one
I took a 20 minute detour from reading your book when I looked up Every Young Man's Battle on Amazon and started reading the commnets.

One more query though: "Shine Jesus Shine"

And its competitor, Fear Not
Had this exact shirt (in purple) right up until the end of high school: https://unifiedgoods.com/en-us/products/copy-of-90s-just-do-it-jesus-t-shirt

Hey can I tell you about my well-reviewed novel that's raised $40K for charity so far
Awesome, thanks for buying!
